Dadasaheb Phalke deserves a Mohanlal Award, not the other way around: Ram Gopal Varma
Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma has congratulated Mohanlal on receiving the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest honour in the field of cinema. In a note shared on X (formerly Twitter), RGV praised Mohanlal, stating that instead of giving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award to Mohanlal, it would be more appropriate to give a “Mohanlal Award” to Dadasaheb Phalke. "I don’t know much about #DadasahebPhalke except that he’s made the 1st ever film, which i dint see and I never met anyone who saw it , but from what I saw and know of @Mohanlal, I think Dadasaheb Phalke should be given the MOHANLAL AWARD," wrote Ram Gopal Varma. In another post, he shared his views on greatness not being confined to the dead.
