Kerala election result 13 Dec 2025

 Today, December 13, 2025, the results of the 2025 Kerala local body elections are being announced, with counting of votes underway across the state. 

The results indicate a strong performance by the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) overall, while the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has made historic gains in urban areas. 

Latest Trends and Results

Overall Lead: The UDF holds a clear statewide lead across most Grama Panchayats, Block Panchayats, District Panchayats, and Municipalities.

Thiruvananthapuram Corporation: In a significant political shift, the NDA has won the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation, ending the Left Democratic Front's (LDF) 45-year rule. The NDA secured 50 out of 101 wards.

Other Corporations: The UDF is set to take control of the Kochi, Kollam, Thrissur, and Kannur Corporations, while the LDF has maintained its hold only in Kozhikode.

Palakkad Municipality: The BJP-led NDA retained the Palakkad municipality for a third consecutive term.

Thrippunithura Municipality: The NDA has also won control of the Thrippunithura municipality, wresting it from the UDF/LDF. 

The counting process began at 8:00 am across 244 centers, with results and trends available in real-time on the official State Election Commission, Kerala portal. The outcome of these polls is widely seen as an indicator for the upcoming 2026 Kerala Legislative Assembly elections.
